I actually only just picked up the equipment for air brushing recently. Ended up with a Badger brush and an Iwata compressor. I don't know much about general paints and accessories, but I did find that this guide did me wonders for figuring out the how to on airbrushing as a general thing!

They never really did a part two but there's a lot of great information about yes and no. I also really recommend looking into a painting booth, either by building your own or purchasing one outright. Filtering the paints out of the air and away from your face is a great second protection to combo with the mask you ought to wear.
